It's all acrylic paint? How'd you do the kind of....splotchy effect? (Sorry I don't know the technical terms or anything...)

Thank you! Yes, it's all acrylic - and actually it was the second acrylic I'd ever done. The trick I learned was using a glaze medium with the paint (and it's that cheap liquid folk art paint you get at Wal-Mart for .87 a bottle!). The glaze is the same stuff you use when you do faux finishes on walls, etc. It helped me use the paint more like watercolors, layering "glazes" of color - as I did to create the mist around her.

I don't really know ... a friend told me about glazing medium and I was able to paint the acrylics like I would watercolor. Somehow it just worked.
